JunCheng Liu 刘君成 was born in Dalian, P. R. China. Liu holds BFA in Traditional Chinese painting, and MFA in oil painting from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in China. A Robert Rauschenberg exhibition, which he saw in Beijing in 1986, intrigued him with what he was then not familiar with, the "individual point of view," subsequently gave tremendous impetus to his interest in contemporary creative concepts and approaches. He came to the U.S. in 1992, and American art scene has broadened his sight. His works have been exhibited and collected nationwide. He taught at Middle Tennessee State University for three years before joined the faculty at Franklin and Marshall College in 1997. He teaches studio practice in painting and drawing, also offers one course in Chinese ink painting and calligraphy.
